POLICE UPROOT AND DESTROYED MARIJUANA PLANTS


BASSETERRE,St.Kitts, (August 15th 2008)-On Thursday 14th August 2008 Police conducted a search and eradication operation at Farm’s Mountain, Sandy Point. Twelve thousand six hundred and ninety (12,690) marijuana plants were found growing on several acres of land there. The plants, which ranged in height from seedlings to 12 feet, were uprooted and destroyed by fire along with three sheds that were used to process these drugs. No one was held accountable for the find. The Police will continue its program to eradicate this illicit plant from the Federation. This latest operation brings the number of marijuana plants uprooted so far for 2008, to fifty-three thousand three hundred and fifteen (53,315).
