ARRESTS/CONVICTION


BASSETERRE,St.Kitts,- (August 6th 2008)Anthony Daniel and Sheldon Woolward both of West Farm were on Friday 1st August 2008 arrested and charged with the offence of wounding with intent, an offence that was committed on 25th July 2008.

Vernon Lake of Newton Ground was arrested and charged on Friday 1st August 2008 with the offences of rape and indecent assault, offences that were committed on 27th July 2008.

Cleve David of Government Road, Nevis, was arrested and charged on Friday 1st August 2008 with the offence of building breaking and larceny. The offence was committed on 29th July 2008.

Jason Thomas of Half Way Tree was on Monday 4th August 2008 arrested and charged with the offences of threatening language, indecent language, throwing missiles, battery on police, resisting arrest and assault.

Kevin Jeffers of Lime Kiln was arrested and charged on Monday 4th August 2008 with the offence of insulting language.

Joseph Hanley alias ‘Limes’ of Fiennes Avenue was arrested and charged on Monday 4th August 2008 with the offence of possession of cannabis.

Jermaine Browne of Sandy Point was on Monday 4th August 2008 arrested and charged with the offence of robbery, an offence that was committed on 21st June 2008.

Timothy Akers of Tabernacle was on Monday 4th August 2008 arrested and charged with the offence of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Leroy Daniel of Water Works, Cayon, and Elvis Roberts of Sarah Bowry, Upper Cayon, were both arrested and charged on 4th August 2008 with the offences of possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply and cultivation of cannabis.

Donald Amory of Prospect, Nevis, was arrested and charged on Monday 4th August 2008 with the offence of possession of cannabis.

OPERATION
On Saturday 2nd August 2008 Police conducted stop and search operations in the Basseterre area and a number of individuals and vehicles were stopped and searched for illegal drugs, arms and ammunition. Cecil Clarke of Monkey Hill, Mervin Jeremy of Thibou Avenue, Denzil ‘Para’ Williams of Fort Thomas Road and Omax Bye of St. Johnson Village were all arrested and charged with the offence of possession of cannabis after the car they were travelling in was stopped and searched and a quantity of marijuana was found.

CONVICTION
On Friday 1st August 2008 Sherry Roberts of Lower Cayon appeared before the District ‘A’ Magistrate Court and was convicted for the offence of larceny by finding. The offence was committed when Roberts found a cell phone belonging to Lionel Francis, and failed to ascertain who was the owner and kept the phone for her own use. She was ordered to pay $600.00 in compensation to Mr. Francis by 29th July 2008 or serve one month in prison. The phone was subsequently returned to Mr. Francis.
